Community Schools
Six schools established within minority communities, offering a safe, respectful, and encouraging place to learn.
Help a community school →One of the biggest education challenges in Pakistan is reaching children from minority communities. In rural South Punjab and Sindh, many Hindu children have been kept out of school by a lack of resources and cultural barriers. Our Education for All Program builds schools where they can learn in their own language and in accordance with their beliefs.

WHY THIS MATTERS
Education in Pakistan is a fundamental right, yet for the Hindu community in rural South Punjab and Sindh it has often remained out of reach. Limited resources and cultural concerns have kept many children out of the classroom. GEF listened to parents, respected their cultural sensitivities, and built schools where children receive formal education in their own language and in line with their beliefs, connecting communities to the mainstream through knowledge.

Build a classroomPROGRAM SPOTLIGHT
GEF began by listening, understanding parents’ concerns and the community’s cultural sensitivities. That understanding grew into six schools across Bahawalpur, Kashmor, and Rahim Yar Khan, supported by a dedicated teacher development program. Today, over 500 students attend these schools with the confidence of belonging, proof that education can bridge divides and empower whole communities.
